Cyber security is a business all by itself. Why it’s a business, and why should we embed security into part of day to day business strategy, management or operation practices?

Security divides itself into Information Security, Personnel Security, Physical Security in the older days. As technology evolves at a speed faster than its omnipresence since more than a decade ago, digital transformation begins taking its center stage for almost all business. Technology moves itself from the back-room back in the 60’s to 70’s to now a handy device in every hand of individual or consumer, highly accessible.

Cyber-Security (any information/data that presents itself in electronic and digital format, in static and in-transit mode), has become more ubiquitous that we realize it’s impacts. Without fail, Cyber-Security contains a composite of all essential elements that have every single touch point on one’s life and business today, whether it’s people - in term of their role & responsibilities, organization structure, the ecosystems where business operates in; processes - be it manual or automated; and technology (information technology or operation technology) that shift all the above.

With this paradigm move, noticeable or otherwise in term of how it affects our thought patterns in some circumstances, mindset of individuals, directly or indirectly involved, need to ride on to the cyber momentum of digital metamorphosis to stay relevant and resilient to environmental, commercial and industrial exploits through a display of cyber-security aptitude as part of the organization or company culture.
